Worcester Chinese Association and educational charity Engage with China are delighted to team up again with the Museum of Royal Worcester and Royal Porcelain Works, to celebrate 2025 Year of the Snake in style.
Worcester’s popular Chinese New Year celebrations are taking place on Sunday 2nd February, 11am – 3pm at the Museum of Royal Worcester and Royal Porcelain Works.
Family friendly activities are on offer for all ages, including tea-tasting and a traditional Chinese tea ceremony demonstration.
The traditional Dragon Dance will take place at 12.30pm on Severn Street (road closed during the performance).
A special treat for this year is a Chinese music performance Guo Yue on flute, as well as a martial arts demonstration by Kui de Tang. Pom Pom the Giant Panda will greet visitors.
Across the day, you can explore family-friendly arts and crafts inspired by Chinese New Year traditions, including calligraphy, paper cutting and origami.
A Paint-Your-Own-Pottery studio will be open for adults and children to paint a range of Chinese New Year themed ceramic shapes including cute snakes, lions and pandas.
Worcestershire Chinese Association was established by Chairman Frankie Tsang in 1999 as a non-profit, voluntary and community sector organisation serving the interests of the local Chinese community. Frankie leads the Association to promote Chinese culture across Worcestershire to bridge language and understanding gaps between the Chinese and local communities. The Association has organised Chinese New Year celebrations since 2000.
